yew limbs actionboo core and canarywood and bermese ebony riser. I hated to give it away, it fit me like a glove. But I got it sent out today to someone.?????

The second limb came off of the form this afternoon. Quite a change from beginning to now. Here are a few more pics. You will notice the knots on the back of this limb I had to deal with and protect as I heated and clamped the limb.
 
 
 
 
  As you can see from the last pic there is still a bit of prop twist but I will deal with that later if necessary.

Here is my trade bow. I still have about 3 in"s to go and then a lot of sanding. The left limb is the top limb and 1 1/2 longer.

I think you should only work the inner limbs to get those last three inches.  It seems way stiff right outside the handle on both limbs.

 Watch your Eye man, I seen your post and that puts a whole nem twist into the term "blood, sweat and tears" I would have all three in the bow at one time right there.

I agree with soopernate.  Work the inner third 20 scrapes on the lower limb; 10 on the upper.  Mostof your bend on the lower limb is in the middle third.

I spent a little time in the ship tonight and roughed the stave down to a close profile. I have some snake and fairly   clean stave so I am going to make a new caul for this bow. I will post some  pics of the caul tomorrow. Here are a few pics of tonight.

I am taking off  two thin growth rings that were left on this stave when I put it up to dry. I was getting  some really nice shavings with my cabinet scraper.
     that's all for tonight. So far, everything is going well.

Ok. While I am waiting on a piece of bamboo, I have added an 8" handle piece to the Osage. The handle piece and slat are both about 11/16th thick. My concern is when I do the fades I might end up with the handle piece being in the working part of the bow and popping off, what do you all think.
My plan is to mark the edge of the slat at 1/4" from back and cut a facet from the center of the belly to the line. The limbs are 1 1/2 wide out to 8" from fade then taper to 1/2" tips. Would then scrape center to get the slat bending evenly before adding the bamboo. Do these numbers sound good or am I being too agressive for 50-55#. Bow is 64" ttt
