I wouldn't use any of the woods listed above as a belly lam for a boo backed bow. Any of them would make a fine core lam. You need a compression strong wood for the belly. Neither of the woods you mentioned are strong in compression. For a backed bow the hickory would make good backing strips for any of the woods mentioned. Something like osage or ipe would be a better belly lam because of their high compression qualities....or you could temper some boo and use it as a belly lam but that is another kettle of fish all together.
