bad new guys.  the bow failed.  the mahogony lam on the belly split.  i don't have the heart to post a pic.  Gonna start another tomorrow after i cool off. they kicker is it wasn't even the limb with the twist.  the mahogony lams i know are brittle by nature.  will probably not use those again.  what the deadline, June or July?  i am not going to hurry it.  this is my first fiberglass failure.  the bow is probably saveable If i do the single limb that broke.  thats for another day though.

Oh no...sorry to hear that sulphur.  Cut the bad limb off and you'll have the ultimate sign hanger for your shop.

sorry to hear that. It was a great looking bow. Maybe a takedown now.

Ain't bow building fun!  It doesn't matter if it is wood or glass they all break. Sorry for the loss but sounds like you learned a lesson or two. No big loss if that is the case.

I may have some good news, Maybe.  the mahogony lam split so perfectly down the middle i was able to sand it down to the glue line.  then i block sanded it to make sure it was perfectly smooth.  added a new lam and new strip of fiberglass.  i put the heat lamps to it just long enough to get it curing and then let it set up for a day.  I cut off the excess and sanded down the sides.  the glue lines look pretty darn good.  I strung it up and flexed it quite a bit on my tiller tree(pulley system).  so far all is good.  need to balance the limbs a little, but string align looks great.  Haven't shot it yet so won't say its success yet.  But if you didn't know better you wouldn't be able to tell.  gotta work over time all week so won't be able to do any more till the weekend.  i am keeping my fingers crossed.  I'll post some pics of the discard fiberglass strip with half the lam on it later.

Got some more done.  i am finally happy with the tiller.  started doing the intial sanding and finished shaping the riser.  so far its got about 50-60 shots through it.  I couldn't resist doing a little shooting in the snow.  Who knew it was going to snow first day of spring!!

thanks guys.  i am really enjoying the way this one shoots, despite the problems i had with it.  I am going to continue to go slowly with the sanding and keep an eye on the tiller.  should be able to start filling the pores with CA next weekend.

Got the finish sprayed on this weekend.  still needs some blk velcro on the shelf and string silencers.  this bow is very quiet and has been fun to shoot.  On wed. i will buff out the finish and hopefully get it in the mail by th end of the week.  here are some final pics.
