Well it's after midnight but I'll go ahead and post for Brian and Gail that I got out of doing the third double shift so I plan to be at Platte Falls in the morning.

FYI, I've got some firewood in the back of the truck and I took a pack of round steak "eye" cuts out of the freezer to thaw.  Gonna bring them along tomorrow and maybe light the grill.  I think there are abou 8 pieces and only about 3 or 4 of us going to Platte Falls (far as I can tell) so maybe we can have a bite to eat before we head to Cabellas.
Dave

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.

I had not posted on this thread because I was afraid I wasn't going to be able to make it.  I'm really glad I could!     I also really enjoyed the opportunity to meet you guys.

Thanks, I hope some good times come together in the future.  Thanks Tom for your patience putting the meeting together.

Tim, Likewise. I recognized the name but didn't make the correlation to Braveheart Archery.

It's really only a little over two hours.  It was good to meet everyone and I had a good time.  I'm heading for OJAM next month and it's only a 4 hour drive.

I tried to kill two birds with one stone today but didn't quite get that done.   I had planned on picking up a load of Hickory lumber but got some false directions.  Seems that Google Maps was only off by 26 miles and when I got the the lumber store they were closed.

Good time sitting around listening to stories and talking about bows with other trad gang members.  Neet to see must of us had the same idea about just trying to get together and have fun rather than a formal club.  It should be more enjoyable this way.

I had to leave a little early so I'm not sure if you guys decided on a weekend to try and get back together to shoot?  We could all load up a target and head back to Platte Falls.  We could set up the targets on the walk through range and shoot away.  I'm guessing Dave is up for another round on the BBQ.  Next weekend is out for me as I'm going to go plant trees at my brothers place but maybe something the second weekend in March.  Lets keep this thread going until we get our first shoot time lined up.

Tripper, I mapquested Colegate, OK and its only 6 hours to some pig hunting.  Might just have to check that out.

Yea, I had a blast too!  I enjoyed meeting everyone but I have to say, next time we get together, EXPECT me to have to get your names all over again.  I bet I couldn't get 3 names right right now besides the couple of you whose names I already knew.

I THINK the second weekend in March is when the 3 trails shoot is but it may be the third one as the month starts on a weekend....

Might just think about making plans to go to their shoot or have one of our own with a little grillin' action?  Maybe a different weekend?  Heck it don't matter to me.  As long as I'm not forced to work I'll be there.

I'd sure like to get out as a group and do some shed hunting and/or roving.
Dave

Gang,

I had an absolute blast! I think I saw my wife’s eyes start to glass over last night while talking to her, because my experience of meeting you guys was all I wanted to talk about. I could not have formed a nicer bunch of guys had I hand picked the people myself. I walked away from our meeting with more than I had hoped for…thanks guys for making my day.   :bigsmyl:

I would also like to send out a special thank you to the gentlemen from Three Trails Traditional Archery. It was very generous of the two of you to take time out of your day and spend time answering our questions.  :campfire:

Gail and Dave,

Thank you for supplying the food for our shoot. The venison burgers tasted great.

It was a pleasure to meet some other Tradgangers for Me as well. Looking forward to next time.
Hard to believe that kstrapper and I had never met before We've ran the same areas and know a lot of the same people. The diversity of everyone on this website is amazing. The fact that Everyone in a different profession can get together and have something in common like traditional archery just blows Me away.
I'm working on a raised platform on My boat for spring right now, won't be long till the water warms up enough to shoot some fish hope to have several of You guys join Me.
Thanks again for the efforts of Everyone involved with getting us together I had a blast!! bretto

Sorry I missed the meeting, I was really looking forward to meeting you guys.  About an hour before I was going to leave, the mail arrived.  In it was my acceptance to law school.  That caused my plans to change.

Brett, I couldn't agree with you more...
I found that I have have a Ganger 10 miles from me (ksbowman) and another about a mile away (PrairieHawk).  My thanks go out to the mods and administrators for this site, they are the ones that made this possible for so many like-minded guys to get together.  We all embrace the "old ways" but sometimes high-tech CAN be our friend...
I'd also like to thank the guys from Three Trails for taking the time to come up.  I really think that you will gain some attendance at your shoots, it sounds like you guys have a really neat organization.  Also thanks to recurvericky and Gatekeeper for keeping this thing alive and making the effort to get all of us together.

It was great meeting everyone. I think we have a good start to some real fun outings in the future. I had a hard time explaining to my daughter that I was going to meet a bunch of guys I met over the internet after drilling into her head the dangers of doing that exact thing but it sure turned out well. Thanks to Tom for putting this together! We owe him one.

Chris, I have some friends down there, so if we decided not to pay for the Coalgate hunt, We could definately camp in a pasture and hunt private. You guys got me pumped up. I'm ready for something. Gatekeeper, the way I see it, you have to give a little to get a little. I'll share whatever land and other hunting opportunity I have with a great bunch of guys like the "KC Traditional Network". Just thought I'd try it out. Sounds good to me. Thanks everyone for the hard work and time off it took to meet. Tripper

After reading the post about the meeting, I am really sorry that I was not able to make the meeting. I fond out Friday that my daughter had a girl scout thing that I HAD to attend. Hopefully, I will be able to attend the next gathering and I will unless someone dies.

Gatekeeper, would you be willing to post the highlights of the meeting for those of us that were not able to attend. Even though I was not able to attend the gathering, I would like to thank you for bringing everyone together.
