Tom,

I'm cool with just using the dinning area.  If we do it in the mid afternoon I've never seen a ton of people up there.  That way if a bunch of guys cancel out at the last minute it isn't a big deal.

I'm with Chris. I'd hate to have 5 guys show up and be forced to pay for the room.

Hey guys, If enough people don't show up I will cover the extra cost. This will be alot of fun just getting to meet up and visit.

Chris is right though not to many people midday.
It dosen't matter to me either way.

Good luck down in Texas Mel   :archer:

As far as I know next Saturday is open for me.  It's a pretty fair drive but it'll be nice just to meet some of you guys.

Okay…

Our buddy Chris put a thought out there that I didn’t think of and he is right. There could be just a few people showing up for this and the small group would feel compelled to pay more than what they had anticipated on and some of the people may not have wanted the banquet room in the first place. So this is what I am going to do. I am going to go ahead and get the banquet room for us and if you want to chip in then go ahead and if the banquet room is something that you feel is totally unnecessary then you don’t have to worry about it.

Thanks Chris for your input it was a very good observation. I would have really felt bad if your scenario had taken place.

The reason I want to get the banquet room is to add a professional feel to our meeting and some privacy.

KS Trapper

Thank you! That was a very generous offer. I am looking forward to meeting all of you. We may not have Texas Sweat to look forward to but at least we have something fun coming over the horizon.

Hey, here's another thought maybe....

Might ask around a little at Cabellas and find out if you could put up a flyer near the front doors a couple days in advance.  I know a lot of guys who shoot trad don't have computers but I don't know many of them who don't pop into Cabellas every once in a while.  Might snag a few more that way.  Might also get a couple to show up who don't shoot trad yet but have been thinking about or are just curious.  It's been my experience that if a guy is even a little bit interested in trad all you have to do is get them in contact with somebody who actually does it and let the hook set itself...

Cabellas might be very favorable to this simply because if a fella got bit by the trad bug, "Well gosh, there just happens to be a nice modest selections of trad bows right downstairs.  Come on and I'll show them to ya."

And for THAT purpose, the shooting lane is more than sufficient.

p.s.  I think I still have the lists somewhere that we made up in the past when I had the other get togethers at Platte Falls.  Should be about 15 names in all with phone numbers if I can find them.
Dave

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.

Tom,

Shoot, I wouldn't have thought those rooms would get much use.  Heck,  I didn't even know they existed until you told me about them.

I'm sure we can find a spot especially if we meet up and cruise Cabela's for a while to let the lunch crowd thin out.

Sorry you did all that leg work for not but I still really appreciate what you did.

Looking forward to seeing some familar faces and some new ones as well.

Thats too bad about the room. But I'm sure we can make things work anyway.  I can't wait to finally put some faces to these names.  I agree, GREAT JOB Gatekeeper for bringing us all together.  Tripper
