MAN LAW"NEW SHAWNEE"
« on: February 11, 2008, 06:19:00 PM »
Well here it finally is. My new Shawnee Arapho just arrived and I'm very pleased. Bad part is I'm recovering from elbow surgery and can't shoot for another 3 weeks. But I can stare at it. It's 54@27 A-riser with D limbs which makes a 60" bow. It's really a custom handle I went to Bobs and had him copy my Cheyenn. It's a cross between a low grip adn a medium. The woods are Bocote handle with macassar ebony. The limbs are foam core with Bacote veneers on both sides. Once again, Bob has made a beautiful piece of work.

Beautiful combo.  It would be a sin to let just sit there collecting dust for 3weeks. You can send my way and I'll break her in real gentle like  ;)

How dare you! Now I might have to order another one!  You know, can't have to many of Bob's bows.  Least that's what I tell my wife.  Great looking bow!

This might be a dumb question, but how do the limbs attach to the riser?

BTW - That is one Sweet looking bow!!  Great wood combos.

The Shawnee limbs attach just like other recurves but the bolt comes throught the back of the riser. In pic 2 you see the "CAPS" where the bolts generally go. The bolts are under those.

Thanks leatherneck, I thought that was it, but was unsure.

Makes for a very clean look on the back.

I will go to the website to answer any of my other "smart" questions.

I am SO jealous.
Bob wouldn't put a wood veneer on  my  foam core limbs. This must be a fairly new development. But then again, I am finally able to afford my own food and don't have to fight the cat for hers. Limb veneers would have held my progress back another couple of weeks.  ;)

Hurry up and heal, you're gonna love this bow!
