tb3 will work, ive seen people here posting about using it with glass cloth. if you can, try it out with a small piece of wood and a small strip of cloth first so you get a good idea of how much glue you need to make it stick well, i had to do this with burlap my first time using it. its a bit diferent than using say paper because burlap and glass cloth arent smooth and have small gaps. end result should be pretty tough though. good luck.

if youre trying to be able to see the wood then youll probably have to use an epoxy or something like you would in a laminated bow, tb3 (at least the kind i got) dries a brown color.

I've used tb3 and it did well but the backing had the pasty urine  yellow look to it.  If you use the epoxy that Rudderbows sells, it should come out clear.  Talk to the guys at Rudders and they will set you up.  I think there is a UTUBE on the process of putting the backing on on their webpage.  Good luck.

Well thanks guys for this round I used the tb3 and its brownish but seems to be working well so I'll do it again with clear apoxy I think.

Another Question... After it hardens is it of to sand to a flater texture or will this defeat the purpose????

you could probably do some light sanding to get it a bit flatter.  though you may end up with it getting fuzzy if you sand too far depending on the amount of glue you used. superglue is an option to get it smooth but its pretty labor intensive to get a good finish product.

did the glass cloth add any weight to the bow you put it on?

It did some actually it was working nicely,,,,UNTIL well I sliped off me marks on the sander without realizing it and created a hing. I am reduced back to the riser and will be trying again!!!! The hing would'v made the entire bow very light if I wouldve worked it out

yea sanders can do that, i avoid using ours unless its absolutely necessary. i refer to the belt sander as"the destroyer of worlds' because it doesnt take but a little bit and the whole thing is off by a mile. im in the habit of cutting my riser blocks before i glue them onto my wood bows because i cant quite get them with hand tools, then i finish with the belt sander but i usually dont use it for major stuff. good luck on the new one though, too bad the first one didnt work out but now you know what youre doing.

ive been doing some reading on this and some people have had the fiberglass cloth overpower the belly wood. not sure whixh woods theyre using, etc but at least 3 people have posted that its happened.
