Osage Holmegaard Bow

Well I finaly finished this osage holmegaard bow. I started this bow a year and a half ago and put it up in the garage until I decided to pull it out for something to shoot in a selfbow class.
Its 62" tip to tip 45@28" 61"AMO The camo on the back is leperd print fabric that I harvested from a skirt from the local thrift store.I get funny looks when I look through the ladies cloths but they have the best camo patterns.

Are the limbs thicker on the end than in the middle?  It looks more like a pyramid bow than a holmegaard bow.

Yes the limbs are thicker at the narrow part of the limbs than at the wide part of the limbs.It looks sort of decieving because of the way I did the tips.I did the tips of the bow in this manner to cut down on weight witch increases speed and reduces hand shock.It shoots real sweet.

i like this bow.  i agree with Jason J, that it looks more like a pyramid than a holmegaard.  But more than that, i think any bow with a significant non-bending outer limb, and stiff handle, is essentially a holmegaard.  I would have made the handle much smaller, really drawing the fades back and back towards the center of the handle, but yours is still a cool bow.  good work.

I took the design from page 120 of the bowyers bible vol.4 this style of bow is called the enhanced Andaman Holmegaard there are two types.
On a pyramid bow the thickness stays the same and the bow is tillerd by the width of the limb if I am not mistaken.The Holmegaard requires tillering by removing wood fom the belly and leaving the limbs much thicker at the narrow part of the limbs.Although the two bows do look alike I asure you the bow I made is no pyramid bow.

oh right, i have seen that!  Don't much like what mr. baker's doing in that bottom picture, though:  looks like his bow just kinks in the handle!
