Designing a replacement riser - takedown
« on: April 18, 2010, 08:52:00 PM »
I have a takedown that I really like but had a delamination in the riser. If I want to make a replacement riser - how much do I have to copy from the original? Does it need to be as exact a match as possible? Can I just match the limb pad angles and surface area? How about total length of the riser? Is everything else fair game for changes - for aesthetic or other reasons?

Are there limitations to thickness and width of the riser? This is for a 50#@28" recurve.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jeff

I would match total length and limb angle for sure!! If it were me I would make everything that touched the limb identical ie with pad angle. as far as design I would try to keep brce height the same from handle to string but other than that just try it!!!
