Backing with Hickory

Well guys I've got my new bow pretty well tillered but was thinking I want to back it with this hickory I have so how light should I make it tiller too befor I put this (@ 1/4") hickory strip on?

The hickory backing only has to be 1/8" thick. You should retiller after you add the backing and not cut it down before hand. Too much chance of screwing up.
