you need to find out the moisture content in the wood first in order to judge how much longer it will need to dry. I am no expert, but I once read that freshly cut wood can take about a year per inch in thickness to air dry. If you put it in your attic, it could get too hot and warp or get internal damage like checkering, but then again it could be a pretty good "kiln" depending on where you live. I honestly don't know about the fridge idea and once again, I am no expert by a long shot. Hopefully someone with some better advice can chime in soon for ya.
