Ever Seen A Stewart Multicam T/D Recurve Like this One?

I found this Bill Stewart MultiCam T/D recurve.  It is 68" and has one difference over all of the other MultiCam bows I've seen.  This bow has the limbs on the belly side of the riser.  And the riser is not actionwood, I'm not sure what it is, but it sure is pretty.

Yeah , now that you mention it I have seen one just like that . Its sitting on my work bench getting ready to ship to a guy in SC .
Couldn't resist Bill , This one is the oldest Bill Stewart bow I have seen to date , I also noticed that the limbs were mounted on the belly.
The person that sent it to us to sell found it in a pile of archery items from an old target archer from the Seattle area . The bow is like new and a great shooter. I wish Bill was still around and we could ask him about it.

I am curious to know what is the theory/logic behind the limb shape of the multicam?

It was Mr. Stewart's opinion as an engineer that it would provide a smoother draw, increased speed and resistance to limb twist.  I think he was accurate in all of these areas.

I bought a Bill Stewart in 1985. He told me that the theory was the same as corrugated cardboard. It will bend but not twist. I still have and shoot mine and haven't found a bow that shoots better or faster.

Oh yeah,I've seen a Bill Stewart bow that looks almost identical to that one....I would say for sure the cam-limb did resist limb twist with out a dout.....ever seen a Bear Tamerlane with the Bill Stewart cam limb from Bill's days at Bear archery???????? bowdoc

Bill...years ago Bill sent me a multi cam 3 pc T/D longbow, 70" 65#. Yew limbs, Maple riser.

It was a gift which I later let a friend of mine borrow...I should say "former" friend. Somehow this bow mysteriously disappeared. Claim was it was stolen from his vehicle. I wish I had that bow back....

No, I've never seen his limb on a Tamerlane.  But I did read that he tried to convince Mr. Bear to put it on the Bear T/D and Mr. Bear told him it wouldn't sell.  I imagine you have seen a little bit of everything in your bow refinishing career!

The story I heard was a little different,but we will go along with the (it won't sell) for now.The story I heard was in an elk hunting camp several years ago! and some of the words may not be apporite for our sight....Hey you wanta see something really cool Bill? check freebay this AM if you have time....Check out recurve bow section..Then check out the Dickie's Fireball listed....Little early multi-cam action recurve.....Had my pc and camera not died last week.I would probley go after that one...It's a pretty neat early cam limb.......bowdoc
