persimmon?

i was wondering if persimmon makes a good bow riser? if so does anyone know where i might be able to get a piece big enough for a riser to send to a bowyer?

Very good for a riser.  They make golf club heads out of it.  Here is one I made.

wow that looks amazing. know where i can come up with a piece 20"L x 2"W x 2"h im going to send it out to James at J.D berry to make me another taipan. i wont be able to get the bow built till around december. so i am really trying to make sure i can find it now. thanks for the info
by the way. i really like your bows mr thompson.
would like to know when u start taking orders again. i need me a cumberland  :)

I have some that are in selfbow stave form. I'd be glad to cut you off 25" piece but you'd have to find someone to cut it down to your desired size and width. You can pay the shipping and I can send it out whenever!

yeah i would be interested how ever i dont need it this second. im sure James can saw it down to the size he needs he just said that would be the minimum size needed. will u have this for a while?
or is it a kinda have it at the moment kinda thing lol
how much would shipping be ?

I'll have it for a long time. It is dry and cured. Shipping should be under $10.00. Just let me know when you're ready!
