Fixed up your tradbow Boswell...
« on: June 15, 2010, 11:09:00 AM »
Finally got my bow finished up. Hope who gets it likes it as much as I liked making her. Named it Purple Passion for obvious reasons, and she goes in the mail today. 68" ntn, and pulls 45# @ 27". Sorry no tiller pic cause I was alone but she's a sexy thang. Ended up with about 1" of set. Also made the best string i've made yet, so this baby is ready to shoot where you look. We were hitting groups in the dark with this thing!

Hope this girl provides lots of fun for her new owner. He should be getting it in about 8-10 days.

Cheers!

That is very cool. So some questions... Are the tips functioning? Did you just glue on layers of wood to make the recurve part?

Oh that is so cool! I have to try a handle like that! Well, not EXACTLY like that... that would be like stealing  :p

Seriously though, stuff like this makes me realize how much I have to learn.
-How to make a bow-
Step one: Make a pile of shavings.
Step two: Shoot your new bow!

That is pretty much exactly what I did. I basically took the knowledge gained from 4est's build a long and added my own flavoring. As far as the very tip end is concerned, they are not functional outside of making the bow about 2" longer overall and making it sexier   :p   This layering pattern was an experiment and I like how it turned out but will use a denser wood for the tips next time for durability. Thanks for checking her out!

Unfortunately only if the new owner takes one. I was in a hurry to take pics and was also by myself and didn't get one. Which I regret. Tiller pics are the best part! btw pat love your tradbow bro. it's freakin awesome!
