Galen, I dyed it all after it was together. Sanded from 80, 100, 120, 180, 320 after 320 I used LOCKWOOD’S WOOD STAIN & DYE with denatured alcohol then very lightly sanded with 400 and 600 then poly finish.
Yep, I agree with you too! I need a block of instruction on how to make the subject look it's best in a still picture.
I like the look of cherry, but it just didn't sit right with that osage hounds tooth footing. I used the lemon dye. The hard rock maple accepted the dye also, it looks just like osage from the edges of the limbs.
