I started by reading everything I could on this website and others.  I would look for build-a-longs, and print them off, and convert them into a "WORD" document.  I made me a book with these documents, as well as, specific items like; forms, heat boxes, etc..  I've got them in my shop in notebooks.  I even referenced them a couple of times while in the middle of my build.  I figured out what I needed material wise, and contacted Kenny, who made suggestions, and helped me a lot.  Then, I just jumped in with both feet.  I posted everything on-line, so I could get feedback on what I was doing, and made some slight changes as I went along per some of the comments I received on-line.

For me, the hardest part was making the form.  I found it very difficult to get the form right, as far as, identical on both sides.  I'm using low-budget equipment, so the work was slow at times.

So blacktailchaser, all I can tell you is to read everything you can find, and then jump in with both feet.  In the famous words of Yoda; "Try not, Do or do not, there is no try."
Good luck.
