Cloverdale might be the biggest event in IN.  This was my first year there.  Gary Davis and Ed Scott were there, along with quite a few vendors.  The course was nice, but very muddy after the storms that morning.  Cloverdale is a little southwest of Indy.

Scrub,

I was at Cloverdale for my first year as well, had a blast even in the mud and heat.

I am looking for something more like a bow builders get together. If there ain't one in Indiana maybe we just need to start one.

There is a great bow building get together in Tenn each spring.  I think it is the closest one to us.  I hope to make it to that one next year.  I went to the Farmland shoot this year as well, but there wasn't any bow building going on there either.  There might be something like that in Michigan, but I don't know.

And, I would love to have a bow building gathering in Indiana.  There are quite a few hoosier bow builders out there.

The Tenn. Classic is a great bow building event. I have been 4 years in a row and can tell you first hand it is an excellent event. PA magazine is a sponsor of the Classic and many of the PA website make it a point to show up. Most are excellent wood bowyers and willing to share their knowledge and support with anyone that is interested.
The wood bow challenge takes place on Saturday and Sunday. You buy a stave from the Twin Oaks Club and build a bow(with the help of some of the best wood bow builders around) that you shoot the course against other bow building challengers on Sunday. Young folks from 7 or 8 years old to folks in their 60s or 70s.
Not only bow building but two 15 target ranges and a practice range, free camping, venders and great food and folks to go along with it all.
Make the most of all that comes and the least of all that goes!

There is a bowbee held at Morgantown on Memorial Day Weekend by Chris Smith.  I think it's called the Heartland something or other.  Joe "Nighthawk" Doyle would know for sure.  I helped with the first one when it was held in February.  Memorial Day weekend is opening weekend a tthe lakehouse so I can't get to the new dates.

John, have you had second thoughts about having a class in your area?

I would be interesting in starting something annually here in IN. We could do it around a time when the weather is nice and no other major events are going on and it could grow into something pretty awsome.

If y'all want to just hang out and make shavings, I'm working in the shop most Saturdays.  Don't forget about the SOuthern IN bowhunt.  If I'm in camp, I'm messing with something.

If you're doing a regular Bowbee thing, have it in April.

I'm in northwest Indiana and would like to learn the art of bow building. If something does get set up be sure to let me know when and where. Was just at the GLLI this weekend and sure had a good time playin with the old longbow.
