cherry bark for backing
« on: October 08, 2010, 10:32:00 PM »
i have a 62" nock to nock osage self bow with elk sinew and snake skins over the back,my question is i have seen cherry bark on back of some bows ,and was thinking about getting some bark and put it over the skins not over all of the limb maybe 10 inches on each limb ,just for decoration. what glue would work the best ,was thinking tight bond 3 and putting some silk thread on the ends of the bark .what do you think?

I've used TBIII to cherry bark back a bow but it was on bare wood. I guess the bark will adhere to the snake skin but I would remove the skin from where I wanted to put the bark first.
