I will use this wood (local wood here, don't know the name) and brazilian rosewood to build a recurve. Think it will looks great!

It looks like Narra, ut that is from the Phillipins(I think). Looks good though.

Here it is called "Cow's Meat". I don't know any other name nor the cientific name unfortunatelly.

Very nice grain in both pieces. I'm curious as to why they are both round. Have they been turned on a lathe? Or just de-barked?

they have been turned a long time ago when I didn't even shoot bows. just found them in my stuff and the idea of building a bow sparkled in my mind.
