A great day with an ol' J & B Bow...
« on: February 05, 2007, 07:57:00 PM »
Justs thought I'd share a great day shooting an unusual old J& B New Moon Long Bow..."66 #62@28...

Model's not unusual, but this one is a two piece that was retrofitted by Craig Warren with his bow bolt system...because of the thin riser on this bow, Craig also added a bit of glass reinforcing I believe...he did an excellent job.

The arrows sent with the bow, some old skinny carbons with outserts were only 482 grns on my scale...a bit lighter than I'd like for that draw weight, but the bow ate them up without excessive noise and very little handshock.  Have to believe that at least part of that was the installation of the bow bolt and glass reinforcement...

I prefer a "buddy grip" on the 21t Centuries, or at least an indicator style...but this bow was exceptionally stable...think the wider "flatbow" style limb profile had a lot to do with it...

Pic below is a group at 18 yards...only five arras...blew the nock off the sixth earlier...sorry Wayne...and thanks again!

And if anyone has a line on a 21st Century with Holemgaard limbs, shoot me a PM...I'm interested.
