Just glued up and cleaned up. The way I cut my riser I don't need the pieces to be the same length. The belly sections here are over 12" long, and I will only need about 9" or so. The long pieces are over 24" long. Once I get done shaping the risers, the knots you see in the canary wood won't be in the remaining portion that goes in the bow.
1st...Canary wood fadeout area, two 1/16" tan phenolic strips, one 1/8" black phenolic strips, and then purple heart on the palm of riser. Phenolic is glued direct to phenolic for a total of 1/4."
2nd...Purpleheart fadeout section, two 1/8" black phenolic strips, one 1/16" tan phenolic strip, and canary wood on palm of riser. Again, phenolic glued direct to phenolic but this time achieving a total of 5/16."
My purpose for doing this is my bows are going to all have 1/4+" phenolic reinforcement, which will simply be one strip that is 1/4" thick, but I wanted to test gluing some thinner strips together to see if I liked the "outline" appearance of using 3 strips together.
Here is one I did that has just a single 1/4" strip.
