"Tickled Pink"
« on: November 07, 2010, 03:27:00 PM »
This bow was made by Eddie Parker(Mullet)with a boo backed ipe kit from primalneedarchery. Highly R/D boo backed ipe, 58"t/t, 64#@28" The boo was dyed with red leather dye and covered with a bull snake skin.
Eddie has been slowly working this for a while. He didn't want to get in a rush because of the highly R/D design takes careful tillering, although most of David's bows are almost tillered right out of the form. I think Eddie did a jam up job...check out the chrony numbers. Eddie was shooting a 651gr. river cane hunting arrow with broadheads.

I know of one other bow a guy in Texas did from a similar boo/ipe glue up that hit 204fps with a hunting weight arrow. David makes a very nice boo/ipe glue up. He has 3 different R/D profiles I think too.

Pat how far was he drawing the bow back for these shots?

BenBow, Eddie has a long draw for his size. Without knowing I'd say at least 28, maybe as much as 30".

Ben, about 28, 29". I didn't want anybody thinking I was short drawing.

Everybody else, thank you for the compliments, and the bow is fast. This glue up from David was special and not what he sells. I had David glue it up with more Boo and Ipe. I wanted a higher weight of bow for a hog hunt in Georgia at the end of the year.

Shawn, most of Davids blanks come out in the 50# range. If you want more weight you need to call him. I'll have this bow at the TBOF Charity Shoot.

I have seen bows shoot 222 fps when drawn 30" and using about 9 gpp, but I have never seen one break 200 fps with a hunting weight arrow of 10 gpp when only drawn 28," especially a non-glass or non-carbon bow.

That said, I suspect he was drawing AT LEAST 29," but regardless...nice job!
Until next time...good shooting,
Lee

Wow, that's rather amazing Eddie! Boy, I knew my arrows were fast, but I'll give David a little credit also   ;) .

I've seen David's bows first-hand and was really impressed with his work. I've also heard others speak of how quick his design is.

Really nice job on that one Eddie. Take care......Art

Lee I am with you on that one. I would say it more than 28 in. draw for those numbers. Or check you chrono.

I wasn't trying to break any records making this bow. I was just after a fast, strong  bow to shoot hogs with. Everybody knows about the descrepancy in Chrono's. It was a blue bird sky when I set it up, no clouds passing over. I also warmed the bow and made only two shots. The first was not a full draw, the second was my normal draw, around 29".

That's an slick looking bow and I would have to agree the full draw pic is beautiful.

Did this come already glued up or did Eddie glue it up on his own form. Really like the look of this one and what matter the draw length or chrono accuracy, that is still sweet and quick.
