Finished another longbow
« on: December 14, 2010, 01:25:00 PM »
And this may be for me if the guy backs out.  I still need to glue on the otter skin rest and strike plate and put on the matte finish.  Pretty simple bow Coco riser A-boo cores bocote veneers.  Tips are black glass and rew sheeps horn.  Overlays are coco and bocote and coco.  58 inches and 56 pounds but feels like 50.  SHoots great too.  And a big thanks to our very own KennyM for the materials as usual.

Thanks for looking

Shawn

If were the "other guy" you wouldn't have to worry!  Very beautiful craftsmanship.

Thanks for the kind words all. I need to start dressing them up a little more (footed risers and multi lam veneers).  But sometimes plain and simple is best.

Beyond nice!  the wood grains are striking and go really well together.  With boo cores, the bow will be even lighter in the hand and I bet a real pleasure to shoot.
No, you won't get to keep this one.
