And it is a riser blank!!
Now for the limb cores and veneers, I use a 1/4" thick taper sled to cut tapers, saves material and grinding compared to cutting parallel and grinding to a taper!
Here we want a .125" butt on the .002" per inch taper.
I make them .035 big ,that gives me room to grind to tolerance, note the preacher stick to set saw,(old carpenter slang, preacher don't lie)..
Then to cut the blanks..
Now on the .001 taper with builtin power lam and tip wedge, I measure in center, then add .018 to that to get butt thickness. In this case I'm wanting a .060 butt lam.
This makes the butt about .150,so I grind it parallel out to about 3" from the end of the fades, this way it doesen't affect the work of the power lam part and the tip wedge is not bothered either. This brings the butt end down so you can bend it up the riser ramps...
And what everyone wants to see,the actual lams that are gonna go into her...
Back later with more...........
