Allright!
Glued the skived pcs together to make 1 long one. Makes an invisible joint almost with a little care....
Ground the fades on the riser while the glue was warming in the hot box, only about 50 in the shop. Better than outside, sposed to hit 16 this afternoon.
You can see the marks where I checked thickness at 1 and 2 inches...
Here are the bow parts ready to assemble into a bow (hopefully)...
Smooth on is mixed and air bubbles surfacing,,osage tongue depressor anyone?...
Now the fun part, don't wear anything you don't want glue on. Lucky for you, most of my clothes are not to worry about, so that saved the naked pics!!
Sorry, once again,no pics at glueup. Don't want to glue my camera!
Here she is in the form, put a few #s of air in and adjust your lams and riser. Also some fender washers with a hole drilled off center to swing up to catch the lam stack mid limb and a set a couple inches from the ends of the fades works wonders to keep everything where it needs to be. Just don't tighten em with the cordless drill! This will bind up and make a spot on limb edge without glue.
Also I wipe the squeeze out glue down into the plastic, you can then break off 90 % of it when she comes off the form...
Maybe tomorrow we can see if she makes weight!!
