bamboo backed cumura

Anyone built a bamboo backed cumura bow?  I read about cumura a couple of years ago and picked up some.  Never did make a bow out of it.  Seems to be a lot like ipe but more open grained.  Thought I would get some input before I committ to it.  Coach

If Cumura is anything like IPE (strong on compression) it will make a fine shooter with a bamboo backing.
