Thanks, Goose. Sounds like ya'll are gonna have some fun. I'm gonna hafta plan on making a trip to one of those get-togethers.
By the way, I was near Ft Smith last weekend. My father-in-law helped me cut a couple of osage trees. Ended up with about 14 staves, unsplit off course. can't wait to get back to his house and bring'em home to debark and split! My paw-in-law lives at a little speck called Bluffton on hwy 28. Watched 3-4 does in the back pastures and had 5 gobblers come pokin' down of the ridge at the edge of the Ouachita Nat'l Forest behind his place... Beautiful.  :campfire:

Some fine looking bows.... I had to clear my head a bit after the Fedex BoneHeads ruined my week I went out and shaved some wood on stave....felt pretty good.I don't think those guys will ever have any of my business after this. I just hope they'll handle it the way it should be.

It was a great day, Stiks, until the dead limb slams across the top of my bald spot! Even with a headache it was a great day. My youngest brother was in from California and went with me. He needs to get back to his roots.

Hey! Nice lookin' bow, Sambo. Beautiful scenery as well.

I'd say nice scenery there Sambo. If I lived in a place with a view like that I wouldn't get much done. I'd be down in them there sticks.

Nice looking stick flinger. Give us some details.

Well shoot dang I bout to forgot to post my progress on my bow.

I decided to roll the tips a little and had to put a couple Torges patches in 4 spots that had to be addressed. I used water buffalo horn for the patches and they are holding up great. I shot it some today and did the shaping on the handle. Need to do some cleanup on her and put some skins and tips on her after I shoot her some more to make sure all is going to be well. I think it will but want to make sure. I think her name will be patches and I hope ***** likes her.

If all goes as planned she should be going to the post office no later than next monday.

Thanks a bunch for posting the pic KellyG.

Ok its a Hickory self bow its 67'' long tip to tip, it came out perfect in draw weight right between what ***** was wanting, It has less then a inch of set witch it started out with a little reflex.

The tree was harvested 11 years ago by my Dad witch would have put me at 5 years old I am now 16. My Dad said I should name the bow "Dads favorite" since he likes it so much    :archer:

Feel free to ask questions about it if I missed something.

Thanks God Bless,

Sambo.

I think Tenbrook received a sweet hickory selfbow made from a sapling with plenty of character.

Man I'm sorry to hear about that when I read it a few days ago Tex, that just plain sucks!
Keep us informed on how it turns out, I'm extremely curious to find out how a claim is handled on a selfbow. I would think that if you had it insured for $500 then that's what you should get from the claim. I'll be watching this one closely, maybe you should start a new topic on it when you find something out? I know I'll have a few questions myself.
Good Luck!

Great Looking Bow Sambo!!
We need more pics, close ups, full draw, ect.
If you need help posting pics let me know, I can help. Just shoot me a PM.

I recieved my tradebow today!!!!!!!

Today started out bad, I had to help a close friend burry his dog early this morning.  To take his mind off of things, we decided to go golfing.  I had my best 9 holes ever, 2 over par.  Anyway, we get back to the house, and there is a pvc tube on my porch.  We wasted no time in getting it open and unwrapping the bow inside.  Wow,is it something special.  It is a beautiful bow made by Eric Pittard.  We both just stood there for a few moments just looking at it and saying "wow".  I really wanted to shoot some arrows out of it, but it is scortching hot outside and I was drenched in sweat just from opening it up.  I brought it inside and strung it up for some quick pictures.  This evening when it cools off a little, I will take some more that do it justice.  This is the first laminated bow I have ever had.  I can't wait to shoot it.  Does anyone know Eric's user name?  I would love to thank him and find out some more info on the bow.
