Very nice, Sambo! I like that hickory. Got a few hickory staves in my outbuilding I harvested last summer. Just lettin'em season.
What's the pullin' weight on that stick?

Got my trade bow today from Walt Francis!  I finally connected with the USPS and wow, it's a beauty.  I will post pictures shortly.  Thanks, Walt!  :)  I REALLY appreciate your attention to detail and the nice tiller!       It pulls smooth and hits hard!

Your quite welcome Sam.

4est- I think Walt must have gotten the address mixed up? It was supposed to come to Missouri.   :goldtooth:

That's ok though I don't mind ya puttin a few shots through it, I would do the same if it came to my place by mistake.
Now if would would kindly just stuff her back in the box I'll pm you the correct address to forward it to.   :biglaugh:

I managed to get my bow shipped off today.  It should arrive in 2-3 days.

It is an attempt at an r/d Hickory Backed Maple.  I ended up shortening it and didn't measure after that but I think it is 64" ntn.  My recipient was not too fussy on draw weight so that's what he got, not too fussy!    :)  It has black and white phenolic overlays on the tips and is dyed black.  I tried my hand at a leather grip (another first for me) and kind of enjoyed that but more practice will improve on that too!

This is my fourth finished bow and I really enjoyed making it despite much of the frustration that it caused.  Now let's see if I can get pics to work.

Some fine looking bows.... I had to clear my head a bit after the Fedex BoneHeads ruined my week I went out and shaved some wood on stave....felt pretty good.I don't think those guys will ever have any of my business after this. I just hope they'll handle it the way it should be.

Chisler got mine...a very nice PM was waiting for me in when I finally got back today from beautiful LAS VEGAS...yeah that was a fun trip.  Cannot wait for santa to show up in the form of USPS lady.....the suspense is almost as unbearable as the heat.

I waited as long as I could but by 8:30 the heat index was still 107 degrees.  I didn't care, I had to try out the bow that I got from Eman614.

It really zips an arrow!  And hits right where I look too.  This is one super bow.

Looks like it stackes'em too!

As bad as this sounds I almost can't believe it myself but the one I thought was gonna be the one blew on me today out of no where. Upon closer examination of the break I seen where it had a very small splinter on the edge of the limb and I guess it carried across the limb and she snapped. I know how fish feels let me tell you.

I feel like I am starting building bows all over again.     :banghead:      :banghead:

I'm gonna have to do something even if it ain't right.

Bummer man, I went for so long without a mishap and everything I made turned out sweet then bam I screwed up 2 of them back to back. I couldn't blame all of it on material either, one of them was clearly my fault.

I hate it for ya Stiks. I'd say don't worry about the deadline, just take your time and make a bow how you "Know" it will turn out good. Keep it simple would be my advice at this point in the game.

Sorry for your loss.

Scrub- That looks like a sweet shooter you got there! It topped out at 104 F. here today and I almost passed out in the garage, had to stop and come inside.   :campfire:

Well I'm back in the saddle again.I got a bit farther along than I thought I would with this one. Not a real good pic it's with my phone. The left limb is a bit stiffer.

I hear you Semo. I can't really blame it on the material. I just got in a hurry. Seems like I been having trouble with that lately.

Been working six days a week and I really was hating that I was gonna be late and whammy. Now I am really in a pickle.

Oh well we know what they say. If you ain't breakin you ain't makin.

I did send my recipient a PM with my phone # and will be discussing some options with him.
