That's a goodlooking stick Twitch. Is it backed with sinew?

It is a paper backed red oak board bow with cherry tips. It's 66" ntn Around 50 @ 28 " with I figure 1 1/2" of follow. I have shoot a good hundred arrows though it and it dose seem to shoot faster than I thought it would.

I have to lace up a handle and put a good finishing coat on but it's just about done. I hope my recipient will in joy it. It has been a great learning experience and a honor to see some of the great bows made for this bow trade.

i recieved a beautiful bow from Ranger44 today, Scott you did an amazing job thank you for the fine bow . couldnt get any full draw shots because of the monsoons . rained 4 inches after 3:00 today. will try and post some tomorrow

Thanks for the kind words Ken.  I have to say I was very intimidated when I received your name.  I think you've made more bows in a month than I have made total.  Right away I figured I couldn't make something you hadn't already done.  I fixed the problems I encountered the best I could and ended up with a pretty light weight but I liked shooting it although I haven't shot much to compare it to.  All in all it was a good and fun learning experienced and I think I am hooked.  :)

Man that's a gorgeous takedown Bone Lake!  Great job.  It's the perfect weight and draw length for me too.  But alas, I already have received my trade bow.  Guess you'll have to draw me next year  :)
Take a kid hunting!

Wow, that maple is stunning!

Just an update.  Got through rough tillering today.  I'll get the tip overlays on tonight/tomorrow.  Then i just have to reduce the outer limbs and do final tillering before I finish her.  So far so good, but that doesn't mean much when it's me holding the tools.

Just one opinion, but I'd put the broken bow in the "received" column.  As far as tracking the bow swap effort goes, the bow was made, shipped and received.   Resolving the issue of its being broken in shipping is a separate thing.   The commitment was met and that should be acknowledged.

Bone, that is a beautiful bow.  Makes me glad I haven't received mine yet, I stand a chance that it's headed this way.

Dick, I agree with you on the broken bow.

Still waiting on the mail man also.  I've always liked the figured maple bows and that one is a real work of art Bone.  Hope it's heading east....Dan

Beautiful bow Bone lake!!

I made one take down recurve and it really gave me an appreciation for the skill level of those bowyers who can do it right.  (Also gave a good idea why professionals charge more for a take down).

Well done!

I agree, Dick, the bow was delivered.
Man the bows in this trade are phenomenal.
I still made out the best though...  :goldtooth:

Looks like I'll get to ship Monday. Its been real humid and Tru oil is not wanting to dry. But I have 3 coats on and hope to get 3 more on the next two days. I'll post pics in the next day or two.
And by the way I think my mail man is avoiding me. I am bugging him to death looking for a package.

that maple td had my jaw just DROPPED. also LOVED the trad wharf . i have an old bear that my old man gave me , and i have been wanting to make him something long and smooth.

absolute gold , gentlemen.  almost time for next years signup already... i havent even cut anything ...
