I'm with Pat on the early start, since I have limited access to osage most of my bows are white woods. I cut them in the spring, rough out a few bows close to floor tiller and let them dry. When October rolls around I store them in a closet beside my wood stove. I weigh each one and mark it once a week until it stops loosing weight, usually around Christmas This way I have plenty of options if the first attempts fail, like this year.
