Well I finally got to get home and open the tube that has been sitting here all by its lonesome and boy shes a beaut. Mr Rob Lund sure did a fine job. A hickory backed red oak pyramid style bow and as quiet as a mouse! I'll try to get some pics soon. Thanks Mr. Lund for a fine bow.

put in some hours today. got the back down to one solid smooth ring. it really is gorgeous. its still really thick (no less than 3/4" im sure at the tips) so im going to tiller it a couple inches on the sides to make sure its all bending evenly, then smooth the belly. 1" wide at the tips still , so she's a heavy one. im actually guessing 70# @ 2"

...hope i didnt just give it away did i...nope...

tomorrow morning is hardcore tillering time. i want to have her shooting tomorrow afternoon , take her to my ol' mans place , put a couple dozen through to make sure she's good , and put a finish/grip on her and send it packin.

i still have like 8 days right?

She is in glue up as we speak. This time tomorrow we'll see how she's doing.

b.glass, are you by chance taking pics of all the steps in your build?  I really dig seeing anything built with horn!

I had intended to take more pictures than I have.

I was just on my way out to take a pic of her in glue up. I wish I had taken pictures of the horn when it was ready for glue. They are like a long teardrop shape and I had them bending in a nice arc when I thought they were as good as it was going to get.

I got alot of good tips from the horn belly build along by John (I don't think I'm going to spell this right) Stervantis (?). I had to use some of my own ideas to make it work for me.

I want to make another one gluing the horn on before the belly has been radiused at all. I think it would be easier at the very least.

Maybe I could do post build along.

Just a reminder that the 8th of August is the end of the 30 day extension. If you have not contacted me, Sticks or even on here on where you are at on your bow please do so. All in all it is coming to gather nicely. Keep up the great work.

I took her out of glue up and she has some glue line issues. I did one limb with clamps and the other with inner tube.

The inner tube would have been atleast as good as the clamped one except I forgot to put a clamp near the fade like Pat suggested.

I mixed up some more Urac and filled in the gaps. I think it will be ok.

Oh ya, I used the saran wrap idea too. Using it again now.

hope them lines work out bona.

i just got in from a 5 hour rasp fest. i took a couple pics. hoping the knot midlimb on one side isnt going to get in the way too much. the warmth outside must have made the stave open a bit , cause last time i left the bow , she had a full knot , and today there was just a hole there. found the plug about a foot away on the ground... hope a holey bow is ok with ***** *********...then again hope its ok with the bow too...

I finally got my bow shipped off. Apologies to all for being late. Here is one last look right before it went into the box.

It shoots for me!

Riser, arrow rest is self adhesive Velcro.

I love these veneers, Golden Rain.

The bow should arrive at it's destination mid to late next week. Shipping via UPS freight.
It is better to be approximately right than exactly wrong.

A bow worth waiting for I'd say! Lovely!

My bow is about a pound and a half over the target weight and it looks like only the upper limb needs to be tillered.

The glue lines will need more cosmetic work but it's going pretty good!

K30bowfisher that is another fine example of the bows coming out of this swap.
B I can't wait to see that horn bow, that is my goal someday to make one of them.
Hova keep at, I am sure it will be one of your best yet.

Been away camping with my dauter for the last couple of days, but after getting in and cleaning up I put the first poly coat on her. Will get another couple of coats wiped on and make up a string, then she will be on her way, after a little more shooting, just to make sure she's alright   :)

Will post some pics if I get my computer fixed. Using my daughter iPad at the moment, so no pics.

Bona, when we going to see pics, I'm super curious about your bow, along with all the others still out their.

Ya, them daughters can stick like glue!

Well, now I have a real problem. After stringing and bending a little the horn on the lower limb where it meets the fade has come lose about 2 in. (You know, where I should have put a clamp).

I'm thinking a little thin CA them some thick and clamp.
