Red, it's two Osage board billets, 1 1/2 wide, 1/2 thick, and 36 long, Z-spliced together. I've found that getting clean Osage Billets that are knot free and doing a Z-splice on them, yields a sweet bow. But them guys who make bows from knotty crooked Osage staves just amaze me. Here in Pa we don't have Osage with thick growth rings like in the Midwest. God I'd love to get ahold of a Midwest Osage Stave just one time, and I WOULD MAKE A SELFBOW FROM IT:)
DVS, I tried a glass takedown last winter. Never finished it. It just wasn't me, I felt like I was cheating myself. I agree glass bow's are great shooters, but they are not for me, it's Osage or Bust here:)
