Greg.... gorgeous riser shaping up there!

Don't know how you self bow guys deal with those snakey bows, but they're fascinating to look at.

I tried one of those scrape it out bows once, but ran out of patience after the first three years... (Not really, but it seemed like it!)   Gave it away half finished.   :)

Roy, what is your belly, a board, billet, or split stave?
I've tried a spliced billet of osage. Now I'm working on a green osage stave and considering ordering an osage board from 3rivers.
Greg, your bow looks nice. Laminated bows are certainly pretty with the various wood combos.
You guys know how to intimidate a person...LOL
I believe this bow swap has us in a fever-pitch.

it's funny, I got into bow building with the goal of building my own glass bow, and I can't seem to even try it. I just can't get past selfbows. Maybe one day I'll make a glass bow... Maybe not.
dick- I don't know how you glass guys build without snakes! Haha

Red, it's two Osage board billets, 1 1/2 wide, 1/2 thick, and 36 long, Z-spliced together.  I've found that getting clean Osage Billets that are knot free and doing a Z-splice on them, yields a sweet bow. But them guys who make bows from knotty crooked Osage staves just amaze me. Here in Pa we don't have Osage with thick growth rings like in the Midwest. God I'd love to get ahold of a Midwest Osage Stave just one time, and I WOULD MAKE A SELFBOW FROM IT:)

DVS, I tried a glass takedown last winter. Never finished it. It just wasn't me, I felt like I was cheating myself. I agree glass bow's are great shooters, but they are not for me, it's Osage or Bust here:)

Well guys and gals... there was a long tube  setting on the back porch when my wife got home this afternoon.

YEA HAWWWW!!

ranger 3 out did himself. That bow he posted pics of a few days ago was inside the tube. Along with a couple of arrows and a nice bow sock. I ran out to the shop and took a few shots and it shoots nice.

I'll get some pics posted in day or so.

Thanks you did good sir, David

I tried a Bingham longbow a few years ago. It blew up before I ever strung it! That was enough for me!!!  d;^)
