sounds like a plan fellers... im holding off on the osage from now on unless i cut it myself. im going to do exactly 5 board bows of one type , just so that i can really get some family in on it when we get together.

anyways , i have other bows , and ken75 (my bowyer) even offered to send one or two my recip's way , cause he said he made the bows for me. i was moved by this. needless to say i think my recip will like john's r/d design too. i might continue on the osage , but i know very well that one day it may bite me , but not in the ass...

lookin forward to doing some things this winter , and getting the garage figured out. no matter what i do to it , the wife has to be able to pull her car in in the winter , and the Yeep sits outside.I'd like to make use of a couple half-roughed bows that i have , and one of them has possibility for this year.

glad to hear you're  back kel. if theres some meet somewhere , maybe i can trick the wife into a road trip... i'd like to get to one of those conventions...

Much humbled tonight.   :notworthy:   Got my (second) package from TX. I can't wait to shoot it. Will take some pictures tomorrow in the daylight. She's a beauty and she's my hunting bow this season. Will post pictures tomorrow and let the bowyer, WestTexan, chime in with the details.

kel , funds are short this week , but she just needs the handle wrapped. due to my poor leather skills , im going to go with a grip tape wrap i think. the leather just looked horrible. i might stop at the craft store and see if there is some long stuff i can skiv up a wrap with , but thats where she is....

Sad day in the trade bow world... After shooting literally hundreds through the bow got ready to take the 4th shot and at half draw *wham*.  Took some pictures of the break.  Now I'm rushing around to get ready with another bow for the season opener in a week.  Not sure what caused it but maybe yall can see something I can't.  The growth rings were great and there weren't any that ran off.  Sorry Dave, loved the looks and the way it shot  :(

Man Goose that is a bummer. Unfortunately it goes along with wood bows. Just hate to see it happen a week before the opener.

Almost forgot that I finally got some pics uploaded on photobucket

Here's a pic of the few that didn't make it this year.     :D

No pics of the two that broke just the ones that are way under weight.

Ok I finished bow #3 for the swap.  This is my first ever Oak bow and I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out but after shooting it I'm gonna be sad to see it go... a friend and I have shot 300 arrows through it and decided that we are going to make some for ourselves.  Here are some pictures of the finished product.  I'll get her out in the mail this week and send you the info Kelly.

like the accents on the handle, that is just great looking. Well another one done. Yep just drop me a note when she is off. Once this one is done and shipped we will be down to 4 bows left.

So - can you get in on this Swap still? I apologize as I just found this amazing forum but I don't think I can wait until 2012 to have another excuse to make a bow!

Man, tough one, Goose! Hope you have a back up waiting in the wings.

I like that board bow, Cuban Missile. Well done.

Went to the camp this past weekend and touched up my favorite spots for this weekend. Opening day is Saturday! Wishing all you Arkansans good luck. Can't wait to see more trade bow harvests. We can't let SEMO out-do the rest of us. LOL   :archer:
