Amazing plug 4est and I love the look of those fades with the growth rings!

Man....a guy learns something every day!  I never would have guessed you could repair a bow like that 4est.  Thanks for the "repair along".  :)

bjansen, that is a beautiful takedown.  I'm starting to feel the urge to give glass a try! (my wife will be rolling her eyes...)

Ah man, you guys are making me feel lazy, so I had to go out and start mine.  Laid everything out on my backing and cut to shape, should be able to glue up by the weekend and start bending the week after. I'll add some shots for all of you when things get moving.

Alright, so here's an update on the "plug patch."  There seems to be no ill effect on the bow.  Here it is drawn to 1" shy of full draw.  Sorry about the poor picture...it's at work where I often use the large mirrors to tiller a bow.  :)

I got the other tip on today while the baby was sleeping. I'ma try an get the handle overlay done tonight and then some finishing touches with the sandpaper for the next ninty hours! and then its all finish and ship.

First I usa a file to flatten the tip and overlay. Then a little sandpaper to clean it up.

Then supergle it on and file it down to match the profile of the tip. Don't forgt to pre taper the overlay so it will be a smooth transition.

Then just a matter of filing the grooves around and shaping the tip to how you like em.

Looking good everyone!  I've been slacking- we had a tornado run right thru the front yard a week and a half ago- crazy! We survived the storm every tree that fell missed the house and vehicles (not by much) So I have been busy cutting all this crudy hickory, white ash and pin cherry for firewood---- ha- firewood my butt

Just spent a couple of hours reading over the posts here on the trade thread.  There are some trully beautiful works of art being turned out! The creativity displayed is very inspiring. Many of you guys have skills that I'll most certainly never develope.
Oh, yeah... Where are the wrong-handed bows? All you righties have it made, huh?  :dunno:

You guys are making me kind of feeling bad, because a lot of you have already finished their bows and I haven't even started. So here I go. Not a lot to show until now, but hey it's a start...

The riser is burgundry dymondwood and for the limbs I'm going to use cherry with figured maple.
