Cracked laminate on limb question
« on: January 16, 2011, 12:54:00 PM »
I have a herter's perfection mag.   The surface laminate splintered in a spot on the edge of the limb.  Awhile back I posted pictures here and the replies were it couldn't be repaired.  It's a 60 inch bow 50#.  I love the riser ... no fancy wood but I like the shape of it and I loved how smooth the bow shot with the nice heavy substantial riser.
What about removing the existing limbs from the riser and building new limbs preferably glued on but bolt on would work if that's what it takes to save the riser from the the wood pile.
If this can somehow be construed as a good idea anyone know a bowyer looking for a project?
Thanks
