In regards to this topic. If you come up with a drawing that you would like to put on your bows. How much does it cost to get a trademark, and also to have print shops make up the silkscreens, and decals, for you to put on the bows that you want to sell?   Thanks for the reply.     John

You can claim a trademark as soon as you use it in commerce without registering it with the USPTO.  That would be the simple TM designation.  To register it is costly in both time and effort.  Figure on at least $350 if you do it yourself and 3-5 times that if you have a lawyer do it.  After it is accepted, you can use the R inside a circle registered trademark symbol.  

You can get decals for as little as $1 a piece if you do some quantity.  Go to Seton.com and you can do custom labels.  Silkscreening usually has a setup charge from $50-200 and then a per item charge.  If you do some volume they'll usually throw in the setup charge for free.
