« on: January 23, 2011, 09:58:00 AM »
can anyone tell me if there is such a thing as figured red cedar (like waterfall bubinga, etc.) that can be used as a limb veneer? (or something similar) thanks for any help.

Any red cedar or juniper can be used as veneer. I have never seen any that was figured like curly maple or waterfall bubunga. I prefer juniper with knots and a mix of heartwood and sapwood. Good stuff.
I didnt miss, thats right where I was aiming

Kenny M has some great cedar veneers. There is a mix of white sap wood, small knots, swirling grain. It make a beautiful bow.

Um, that would be me...

I haven't seen any waterfall cedar or anything curly in it,but like Shaun said, it can be striking. I'm gonna go get a fresh load next weekend.

Here ya go, have a look...
