Tony's 1st Osage (Pics Update Pg.2)
« on: January 24, 2011, 04:57:00 PM »
Tony drove down Sunday and we braved the cold shed and an osage stave we pulled from my wood pile.

This will be his first from stave to bow,,, or at least we hope it will!     :notworthy:

Thanks again Tony Chinn

Very cool, indeed.  Tony, from what I've seen on these threads you've chosen a good teacher.  Keep it up.

Joe is a good teacher and very patient, I'm like a chatty cathy doll with a broken string.

Tony I hope he teaches you to wisper them bows out of the staves like he does. Joe way to share the bug. I bet teaching someone is as fun as doing it yourself if it is anything like hunting. I have always enjoyed taking first time hunters out regardless of age, just to see their faces light up when they bag something.

You know, Joe, getting someone else addicted to your vice doesn't mean it makes the habit socially acceptable.  :biglaugh:
Glad you were able to make the right swap, talent for material goods always makes the lessons seem so much sweeter!

Okay,,, Tony and I have worked on this off and on for about a year. Meet "Primal" the osage selfbow - 48# @ 28" with copperhead skins, asian water buffalo tips and shelf, leather grip, mink fur silencer, hand twisted flemish string and the wood was stained with poke berries and green dye. It comes along with a leather plains quiver with fringe and deer antler accents while sporting a matching armguard.

Hope ya like it Tony. Shipping it out to you next week.
