Finished a longbow
« on: January 25, 2011, 09:31:00 AM »
Heres a longbow that I made for a friend.  Its 58 inches and 47 pounds.  The riser is osage and walnut accent strip.  The cores are walnut and the veneers are cocobolo.  Tips are polished sheep horn and overlays are walnut and cocobolo.  Veneers and cores from our own Kenny M thanks for looking.

Shawn

Very nice!   I tried walnut and osage once, but my walnut came out very light and I didn't get the nice contrast you did.  Pretty bow.

Thanks all.  These colors really did pop. I was a little nervous about it but the Osage had just enough reddish-orange tint to it.

I really need to work on my tips you can see a some difference in the groove alignment.

I love osage and that bow is a real sweet looker.

If I could do glass bows that would be my combination on woods.
