no , not that kind of phlem. i havent smoked for a week.
but i did make up a new string for my longbow today , and did the double loop flemish. everything went well , but the loops seem a little thin. i did 12 strand b50 . with regard to the loops , im going to make up a gig for an endless on the cheap , just to give it a try , but i like being able to make a string with just my hands and a knife.
anyways , when i did the first loop , i made it for the bottom nock , no problems. when i did the top loop , i kept everything as even as i could , but one bundle seemed to be a little looser than the other. i straightened it out and started over keeping them dead even on twists , and furled fine. but there was still a slight slack in one bundle. it ended up going away when i twisted to get brace height , but i dont ever recall seeing anyone mention anything like this..
i didnt use string wax , as i am picking some up tonight , along with some serving , cause the b50 is way thinner than the A.Sinew i used for my original 2 strings , that were twisted the whole way , and a bit too thin for my selfnocks. i am going to pick up a couple glue on points tonight as well as ssome glue on field tips and a sharpener style taper tool if its not 12$ at gander mountain...
sorry to ramble , i just wondered if anyone else had a loose bundle and what you did to solve it....
also , when doing a tie on nock point , i did the 6 over/underhand knots , then a constrictor , but it just doesnt look that pretty. works great , but i just wondered if serving holds its round shape better.
thanks gent's
