A couple from off my bench for GORH....
« on: February 12, 2011, 06:12:00 PM »
I'm gonna donate a few bows to GORH (Great Ohio Rabbit Hunt). Here's a couple of the youths I finished today.

Osage 25#@25" "Sticker"

And a Shell Bark Hickory 35#@26" "THUMPER"

I agree with Dave...some really nice work.  I love the "Sticker" and am a sucker for a bow with a little character quirk like that...

Makes me want to load up my 2 boys and drive from MI to Ohio just to give them a shot at owning a bow like those, very cool.

Love them both!

sTicker has the best wart I've seen yet and Thumper looks rowdy, like it's just ready to jump. Does Thumper have quite a bit of reflex unstrung? Those limbs are plump!

Excellent work!

I induced about 2 1/2" reflex in the hickory and the unstrung profile is now straight after shooting it in.

Another shot of the sTicker

I see happy kids in those bows futures! Well done Joe.
I made a hickory bow years ago with a "sticker" just like that and named the bow..."Sticker"!

Awesome lookin bows! I love the color of that hickory bow. What kind of stain do you use on hickory? I've tried some different colors but never had anything that looked that good.

Pardon the ignorance, but what is "GORH"?
Step lightly, and shoot a trad bow.
