First "Completed" Bow Build
«

Thanks to a lot of help on this forum, I got my first completed build done. I have had other attempts, but nothing made it to the finishing table.
This is an oak board build. Tips are layered with bocote. I wrapped the tips because of a delam explosion while tillering which also forced me to shorten the bow. Started out at 69" tip to tip and ended at 66". The grip is layered with cherry, hickory, bocote and palm on the back.
I started out at 2" wide at the grip and went with the pyramid style build. My goal was 35-40 pounds when complete. It took A LOT of thinning of the limbs but I got it to 41# at 28". I don't have a string yet, but some decoy anchor chord works good for now.

Thanks Everyone.
I learned a lot on this one. Ready to start on another one. This should see its first real action this week during our indoor 3d league. That was the main reason I built it. I wanted something with a lighter draw for daily shooting. I hope it holds up.

hov,
The tips are wrapped in serving/nock string and then coated in epoxy.

I like the look of the palm what dimensions does that come in? The wraps look pretty unique as well, what is it wrapped with?

Savage, Are you referring to the Palm wood. You can get it in any dimensions with the right supplier. I think that piece used to be a 2x2x12 I got from Woodcraft years ago.
The wraps on the tips is serving string. But I am going to be taking them off to try and cut down on the shock. Need to lighten up the tips all I can.
