New to me Kwyk Styk
« on: February 17, 2008, 10:50:00 PM »
Hey guys, I just wanted to share a photo with you of a new to me Kwyk Styk.  Some of you may remember Shawn Leonard's Styk with the osage and cocobola riser. Funny story about this bow, the first time that Shawn posted it, I fell in love with the bow. I emailed him right away, and then poof, the listing was gone because Ron bought her... well, when I saw her come up again, I went straight to the wife and begged and pleaded to get the funds to finally get this bow. =)  She has aged beautifully, and I can't wait to get her into the woods. In the past week that I have had her, my groups have been tighter than ever. A true work of art, and a pleasure to shoot. Now I understand why so many fall in love with them. =)

Hoping to meet some fellow Tradgangers in Erie within a week or two to do some shooting, so she'll be there if anyone is interested in getting their paws on a kwyk styk to shoot.

That bow is an absolute beauty! I was there at Joe Skipps shop when Shawn picked it up, shot it when I hunted with Shawn. I've watched Shawn shoot a lot of bows over the years and he never shot one better than he did this bow. KS's will make you a better archer!

If you could get a better picture outside, I'd luv to see how the wood has aged(coco/osage). You all know that I think these are the best bows on the market(that I've ever shot).

Good for you,enjoy it!

I picked one up 54#@28"-56" and draw it all the way to 30" with no snags. Great shooters. I like the riser a tad better then the T-Ghost's. They are fast shooters. Congrats on a great bow.<><

I'd love to see how that riser has aged too!  I was real impressed with how that bow shot!

VERY NICE !!!  I will be joining the Kwyk Styk ranks here in a couple of months. What kind of quivers are you guys using on your bows? I have seen pics where Guru uses a Selway I think. Do you know if the Great Northern quick connect would work? Man seeing the pics of that bow make me want mine....just when I was not thinking about it I have to come across this thread.....

Fellas...you don't need to shoot heavy weight bows...especially Kempfs. I tried to convince Shawn to stay in the 56-58# range...but...if he didn't injure his shoulder, you wouldn't be shooting that bow now...Good luck with it...put a TS-1 string on it...watch the performance!

I've started a folder on my harddrive and have been collecting all the pics you guys have posted over the last year plus....I just love the look of these bows and if they shoot half as good as you guys say they do, I gotta have one!!!!

Someday I'll get to shoot one of these and see what all the fuss is about. Great looking bow, love the lines.

I've owned and sold a BW. I've never owned but shot a Kwik Styk. I prefer the Kwik Styk by far.
