Also, I want to make something perfectly  clear, I'm not in any way shape or form putting down Binghams Projects.  Keep in mind I mentioned this is the first time I've seen this since 2001 so I think that's still an A+.  Over $2000 of the income on their books last year came from Maddog Archery, and whenever I place an order it's always here within 3 days, of course I do live less than 3 hours from them. Their one of the ones who got me here today.  

Everyone that thinks I'm dogging Binghams' I didn't  mean to come across that way.  They don't determine the thickness it's Gordons composites who mades it.

good thread. after I built my first "50 lb" bow from a package kit (it came out 56 lbs) I knew I needed more info about what I was buying, So I bought a digital Micrometer, it was less than $30 at Lowes.. I check and record every lam thickness and riser lengths before glue up..I don't make my wood and actionboo laminations, I buy them..I keep at least a dozen pairs of tapers in butt thicknesses from 0.090 to 0.135 in stock.. that way I can hit my desired stack height depending on chosen veneers and glass thickness.
I have stacks of veneers from 0.019 to 0.030..I am a hobby builder..but I have learned a lot from reading good threads like this one. Thanks, Robert

What I did on my last one, knowing I needed .325 thick at the fades, I simply subtracted, .070 (instead of .080, like I use to) and made my laminations .128 each and that came out a few pounds heavy, after tillering and sand down it is perfect.

But I'll still check each strip of glass from now on.  

It seems to be worse on the brown glass, not as bad on the black glass.  Black is all .038 - .041.
