What I did on my last one, knowing I needed .325 thick at the fades, I simply subtracted, .070 (instead of .080, like I use to) and made my laminations .128 each and that came out a few pounds heavy, after tillering and sand down it is perfect.
But I'll still check each strip of glass from now on.
It seems to be worse on the brown glass, not as bad on the black glass. Black is all .038 - .041.
