My kids have these cheap store bows and shoot all the time in the shop with me. I figured it was time to build a good bow for them.
This is a board bow of red oak.

At the end of tillering, it started developing a slight fray which led to a small start of a crack on the lower limb. I thought I would try and save it so it got glued and them tight wrapped in cord with hopes to save it. As you will see in the full draw shots, it won't be long before this bow decides to go. It should probably just go up on the failure rack now.

The backing is landscaping felt. That stuff you put under your mulch and stuff to keep the weeds out. It works great and almost has a carbon look to it. This stuff is more of a fabric soft kind.
I had to give it a shot.
