Correct me if Im wrong
« on: March 11, 2011, 01:22:00 PM »
I am going to put skins on my new short bottom limb osage self bow. This is what I was thinking needs to happen, please correct me if need be.

1. Leave the bow raw, but finish sanded and glue my skins on.
2. Trim up skins after drying period.
3. Rub my Tru Oil on the entire bow in one shot.

Thanks

Sounds good to me, but I saw some really nice camo duct tape at walmart yesterday. Ha! Have a good weekend bro. I get to take the weekend off for some serious playtime!

Thats a great plan Savage! Then I could just peel it off for 3-d season and put it back on for huntin' season! Plus I could get like 500 feet for $6! Thats way cheaper than skins! Have good weekend yourself Sir!

Its under rated as a backer. We always hear about linen, brown bag, sinew and such. But what about duct tape? Its waterproof, super sticky and will protect from splinters after the explosion.

Funny y'all should mention camo duct tape.......I was in Walfart yesterday and they had grey digital camo duct tape. First time I've ever seen that variety, it was kinda cool actually. I thought about picking up a roll just cause it was pretty. Don't know what I'd use it for though, maybe arrow wraps?

Pearl- Maybe you could get some to put over Roy's mouth so you can hear him or see him?   :knothead:

You have my address, I have to believe you John! I need to be careful with my sarcasm, somebody might actually try it on their bow!

I use the camo face paint to camo my bows when hunting. It doesn't hurt the finish and wipes right off after the season is over.
