Just finished/ Bamboo backed Osage
« on: March 14, 2011, 08:31:00 PM »
I just finished this bow. 56#@26". The wood in the riser is Mango which I got from my brother-in-law who lives in HI. I had some scrap pieces of Copperhead so I used it on the limb tips. This Osage has a fiddleback pattern in the grain which I've only seen one other time in a piece of Osage.

WOW! that is very nice, incredible in fact. love the mango wood(knife handle would look cool in that). the bamboo is dyed nice and the brace pic look sweet. nothing bad there. also like the skins on the tips. I think I like it better. lets the bamboo come through. excellent work.Eric

Wow that's a stunning bow!  I love the wood color combo and that "fiddle back" is gorgeous.

Was this a typical laminate build with a "board" or a piece of Osage that was dimensional or did you tiller out the Osage and then add the Boo backing?

I have a Boo backed "Hunt Worthy" bow that I am just getting used to and I admit I really like the zip it seems to have...I bet your's is a screamer too.

Thanks
~ Lee

Beautiful bow! I like how you did the skins on it. And the riser looks awesome also.

The color, wood combo and skins is a unique combo and very pleasing. Any chance for a full draw pic?
