Thanks guys, I know Kelly. I have a hard time finding someone to take my picture, but I'll get my dad to take a couple pics of me today at full draw and get em on here.
I also forgot to mention the specs didn't I?
It's 64" from nock groove to nock groove and 50# @29" but I need to get her back on the scale just to see if it held the poundage after I finished it.

Charlie- I've got a few buddies up your way that live around Dublin, Va. We all belong to a reloading site and have been internet friends for about 3 years now. I'm actually a moderator there and one of my buddies started the site and he gave me my very own little archery section to show off my work.

What did you use for tip overlays?

Nice looking bow.  I am making my first bow. It is a slow process as I make the tools and think through the process.  It helps a lot to see what others are doing.

That's Rosewood that was some end cuts that my father got at a lumber yard that used to cut up hardwood. They were cuttting up some Rosewood that a guy got from another country and had it shipped to them. He made Xylephones and the Rosewood was for the keys......go figure.
My father asked if he could have some of the end cuts and the guy said sure, take all you want. I'm just about out of it and have been carefully hoarding what little stash I have left just for tip overlays.

Rosewood, eh?  I may have to pick some of that up, I really like the way it turned out for the tips.  You've got a talent for making bows, that's for sure!

Thank You Ryan. I learned everything I know from these guys right here, and a little trial and error. Well, actually alot of trial and error, but it's all been fun even the failures because it's a learning process. If you pay attention to what these older guys are saying it will take years off the learning curve and before you know it you will have more successes than failures.

Very nice, SEMO. When you post the full draw pics how 'bout a shot of the belly. I'm working an osage stave and your belly grain looks similar.

There for a minute I thought you wanted a pic of MY Belly! Hey wait a minute!
 :goldtooth:

Sure I can do that, but you shouldn't need to worry much about the belly grain, just let it be what it is and tiller it evenly. I'll get my father to take some full draw pics of me here in just a bit.

Thanks Art, and the rest of you all for the help in the right direction, and thanks for the gizmo Eric. Where is Eric?

Looks crappy from my seat.....Poor finish job, and that bottom limb is stiff, looks like the upper is close to hinging mid limb to me? Maybe next time you can build a decent one...Who knows?  :p
