Goose you got her looking good bud! Inspired me to dig up a stave out of the pile with a big nasty hole    :bigsmyl:   I love a bow with some nasty holes in it.

You may want to put that dude on a caul and heat some reflex in the holy limb. JMO It will be interesting to see what others think about that.

I love how we can all learn from each others builds here.

Stiks the only thing keeping me from heating up that deflex is two sections of pin knots that irk me just enough to keep from doing it.  I'm not looking for a screamer but a shootable bow at the moment.  I'm sure it will mess with the cast of the arrow quite a bit but my goal is to get it shooting first.  I'll take some pictures of those pin knot areas and see what y'all think.

The first picture is the back the second is the belly.  There are 3 sections of pin knots.  First section of 3 right next to the flipped tip.  Second one midlimb.  Third is a group of 4 right outside of the hole.

Goose, that is a nice looking bow!  As you know, take it slow and it will have a better chance of becoming a good shooter.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

Goose I would heat it but that's just me. I may be wrong in thinking that. So take it for what it's worth.

After hearing your thoughts I may just get her shooting first too. Then temper the belly and add the reflex. Several options I suppose.

Main thing is like Walt said take it slow and get her shooting.

So I spent most of the day piddling and got the bow shooting.  46# @ 28"  Here are the first 3 shots at 10 yards.  Not too bad.  I did have to wait for the wife to get home to get pictures of the full draw.  So, because it shot an arrow it is a bow.  No creaks no groans and I got er there.  HOLY MOLY is now a bow that needs just a sanding and a couple more hundred shots through it to be finished!
