I like the sleeve because you still have a one-piece bow when you unstring it. The bow bolt works the same way. Though I have never tried one, they have received positive comment on this site. With a hinge, you have two pieces when you unstring the bow. Doesn't fit on my bow rack then, and I always seem to have trouble finding a safe place to set it down.

I just got a new BW Longbow with the Locket Socket T/D system. It is a type of socket style but is much sturdier. I really like it so far.

I like the bow bolt too. Hope made me a believer last year.

Gotta make sure you use long enough, and more importantly strong enough screws if you go with connexion hinge. Sleeve kinda make a generic handle. If I did a take down, it'd be bow bolt.

I have a Jackknife Critter Gitter from Great Northern. This is the hinge type. The hinge is on the back of the bow and is directly under my middle finger on my bow hand. As a result my hand never feels comfortable on the grip.
With that being said, I like the convenience of the break down longbow. It also doesn't seem to effect my shooting.
This is the only takedown (other than three piece) that I have experience with.

I had a couple fellas tell me there were problems with the bow bolt. ( here say). I was unable to get in touch with Warren Archery regarding it though. Gonna do the hinge I think.

The sleeve system offers you the possibility to create your own bow grip. If you choose the right sleeve size for your hand you can model every grip style you`ll like. Unbeatable if you can not drive to the bowyer to have your grip custom fitted. A 100% fitting grip is much underrated in shooting accuracy. Just my 2 cents...

I prefer the sleeve type after having bows with sleeves and hinges. Jack Harrison just designed a composite sleeve and has one of my HHC one piece long bows right now that's going to be converted to take down. My fingers are crossed but I'm sure it will come back great. Jack will also have a CD out for the "do it yourself" guys on converting your own bow to a takedown using this new sleeve.
